Green
Business Certification
There are two levels of the Green Business
Certification program. Whether a business has been incorporating
sustainable practices in its operations & business model prior
to enrolling in our program or is brand new to "Going Green",
we encourage and want to award everyone who thrives to make
Los Angeles a cleaner, safer & more efficient place.
Our tiered approach will increase by a cumulative number that's
calculated based on a businesses completion of our checklist
& continual growth within the program. The number will represent:
- Reduction in Energy, Water and Waste Bills.
- Reduction in pollution to the local environment.
- Increase/replacement in purchasing with "Greener" products.
- In some cases, an increase in revenue with new sustainable
products, additions to the menu or other initiatives.
- Other initiatives recognized by Los Angeles Green Business
(LAGB) staff.

"Certified"
Level, 50%
and beyond
This
level recognizes businesses whose cumulative number,
based on the aforementioned steps, equals 50% and beyond.
"Merit"
Level, 10 - 49%
This base level recognizes businesses for enrolling
in the program and going through the basics of the program:
filling out LAGB checklist & completing certain measures,
having two meetings
(initial & follow up) and then a willingness to continually
improve.

by Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). It
recognizes other certification initiatives such as Green
Seal and Green
Globe International. |
